About Me

My photo
Hi, I m Dick Isenhart. The effects of global warming concerns me deeply. My wish is that my pictures will move you to help preserve our fragile world. "Be the change you want to see in the world." After years on shooting film I transitioned to digital and gave away all my old gear. I now use a Canon 80D. Before COVID, my wife and I took long camping trips each summer to photograph the national parks. We have adapted to taking several closer trips to State Parks. I enjoy the grand vistas of landscape photography. But Macro wildflowers and arboretum photography brings out my artistic side. I am available to mentor and give presentations. Please feel free to comment on any of my work. Like and Follow as you see fit. Let me know if you would like a print. My motto is to "Live life with integrity and a sense of humor". I have a good sense of humor and don't take life or myself too seriously. I hope that in time, my friends and family will say that I had laughed a lot and loudly and have lived my life with integrity.

Forillon day 3

Just a short update on our travels.  From du Bic, a nice park with a bad campground, guess they all can't be winners, we traveled the coast of the Gaspe peninsula to Forillon.  We spent four nights and 3 beautiful days in Forillon.  We sat on the rocky beach, watched the full moon come up over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.  We hiked out to the Cape Gaspe lighthouse.  I swear the hike was uphill both ways, impossible I know.  It was about 5 miles round trip, but well worth the trek.  We also did a shorter hike to a water fall, which was down a bunch of stairs and then back up.  Our legs are getting a work out.  Wednesday Aug 13th was a very long day in the car.  We are now in New Brunswick at Kouchibouguac National Park.  (Quite a mouthful.)  The beach here claims to be the warmest water north of Virginia.  But it was windy and cool here today and the water temp and air temp were both 64.  We have done several short treks through the salt marsh, cedar grove and a beaver trail.  All trails here are pretty flat so easy hiking.  We leave here on Saturday to go to PEI.  We will spend four days there.  Canada has so far exceeded our expectations on their national parks.  And in this park we even have wifi at the campsite.  Weak but it is a signal.  We are having a great time.
