The rain has followed us to Nova Scotia.
The last evening at PEI had a windy but lovely evening.
Clouds everywhere with scattered rain for the last three days. Not enough to
stop us but enough to change our plans.
We went for a drive to find the ferry to Nova Scotia and
found a wool farm where the owner was training her dog to herd her ducks. After
that she directed us to a woolen mill where we got a personal tour. Fascinating
machinery, oh ya, Sue bought some yarn.
The mouth of the ferry opens up to eat the cars and trucks.
One hour trip was uneventful.
We followed the car’s navigator and ended up on a paved but
rotten road for 50 miles. We averaged maybe 30 MPH. So much for the “quickest”
calculated route. It was beautiful. I had to watch for pot holes and Sue got to
see the majestic hills and lakes.
We are on the Cabot Trail. The Cape Breton area has the most beautiful
low mountains (quickly rising to 500 Meters) I’ve ever seen!
